Make a List - Day 8

Today’s prompt is to make a list.  Doubt it will be one of my more profound posts, but I’m in (I LOVE lists – very Type A over here)!

My first thought is to brainstorm a list of the steps I can take to work on my writing project of writing articles for work.  Or studying for my AREs.  Those both seem helpful, yes, but not terribly thought provoking or exciting.  What about a bucket list of sorts.  Fantasize about places I want to travel.  Put my current big goals (and maybe some new ones) in one place.

In no particular order – my life list:

·         Build a Tiny House

·         Take 1 ARE

·         Pass all Architectural Exams

·         Get my Architecture License

·         Complete my ALEP accreditation

·         Get published in a trade magazine

·         Travel to Asia - not sure exactly where, lots of places:

o   Thailand

o   China – see the great wall

o   Japan

o   Russia

·         Travel to Australia

·         Also, New Zealand

·         Take an Alaskan Cruise

·         Live in Sonoma County

·         Visit Mexico

·         Travel to South America

·         Go to Madagascar

·         Go on a Saharan Expedition

·         Be a Reader….read a lot… not sure what my reading goals are, but I love to read

·         Learn to play the Guitar

·         Be a Leader

·         Get promoted to Associate

·         Buy an energy efficient car

·         Live off the Grid

·         Pass the LEED exam

·         Save $10,000

·         Save $100,000

·         Visit National Parks

·         Take a cross country road trip with Charlie

·         Drive Highway 1

·         Visit Oregon

·         See the 7 wonders of the world?

·         At least the pyramids of Giza

Okay, this is really hard.  I’m only halfway through the 500 words, and I’m drawing a blank.

I know this isn’t everything I want to do in life, but I also don’t want to sit here desperately trying to think of things rather than just a flow of writing.  I’m going to try another approach (that I think is a valid part of the writing process).  I’m going to look up some bucket lists online and see if it sparks any ideas.

·         Ride a hot air balloon

·         Go to the otter experience

·         Backpack the Grand Canyon with Charlie and my folks

·         Go to Florence

·         Visit Machu Picchu?

·         Go back to the Louvre (and actually go inside this time)

·         Cage swim with sharks

·         Go tandem skydiving

·         Do a color run

·         Do a ‘tough mudder’ type race

·         Hike the Appalachian Trail

·         Hike the Pacific…. Trail

·         See Hamilton live

·         Create a Source of Passive Income

·         Prepare a Will

·         Get paid to travel

·         Go ghost hunting

·         Walk or bike the Golden Gate bridge

·         Go on a cave expedition (level easy)

·         Visit Mount Rushmore

·         Stay the night in a castle

·         Go on a zip line

·         Visit all 7 continents

·         Go to Hot Springs – specifically in Napa, but elsewhere as well

·         Go on the Alcatraz tour

·         Take a cooking class in Italy

·         Go Glamping

·         Go Bungee Jumping

·         Ride a Duck boat

·         Go whitewater rafting

·         Have confetti sprayed out while walking through the grocery store (a la Sara Bariellis)

·         Sing with a famous singer

·         Go on a Game Show

Okay, some of those were a stretch, but it was fun to think past the ‘easy’ list.  I know there’s a ton ‘on my bucket list’ that I’ve already done, that might be a fun list to brainstorm and recall as well!
